—A Legacy of Service in Memory of Gerald Akor
Lokoja, Nigeria — August 2, 2025
Today marks exactly three years since the passing of Gerald Akor, a young man who died at the age of 24 on the 2nd of August 2022 at 7:25 a.m. His brief but impactful life continues to inspire social transformation through the work of the Gerald Akor Foundation (GAF). Established in his memory, the Foundation is now celebrating three years of dedicated service, with a focus on education, healthcare, and social development.

In a press briefing held in the early hours of this morning, the Director of the Foundation, Mr. Eneojo Akor, reflected on the journey so far, saying:
“Gerald lived a short life, but his impact was enormous. It is this spirit of compassion, excellence, and humanity that continues to drive the Gerald Akor Foundation. Today, we remember not just his passing, but the light he brought while he lived. Through our work, we are committed to keeping that light burning—for children in classrooms, for the sick in remote villages, and for communities seeking hope.”
Also speaking with the public, the Foundation’s Administrator, Mrs. Dorcas Rowland, highlighted the Foundation’s ongoing mission:
“We have touched lives across various communities, provided scholarships, medical campaigns, and empowerment programs. Gerald’s memory fuels our passion daily. This Foundation is more than an organization; it is a movement of hope, of purpose, and of compassion.”

The late Gerald Akor is remembered fondly by family, friends, and the countless beneficiaries of the Foundation’s work. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Monday Akor, in a brief comment, expressed profound gratitude to God for the life and even the death of their beloved son.
“We are thankful that Gerald’s name lives on through the Foundation. We are comforted by the lives being touched in his name,” they said.
Each year, the Gerald Akor Foundation commemorates his death anniversary with humanitarian programs that reflect his values—selfless service, love for education, health equity, and social care.
As the Foundation marks this significant milestone, its commitment remains firm: to serve, to empower, and to keep Gerald’s legacy alive.
